ok, folks I gotta ask you something, do you read books in English? What authors impressed you most of all? or in other words what books did you read?
I personaly Iove Hunter Thompson, Fear and Loathing in Vegas, all of Kurt Vonnegut, Stephen King.... I dont read much nowadays, so I need your advise, please.

hm...
i dont read that much in english nowadays)
but from what i read in the past i liked orwell's "animal farm"...golding's "the lord of the flies"... mmm... what else... some Edgar Poe's stories and poems...
i guess i gotta read more... cant think of anything right now... there was some book... it got a nobel prize for literature sometime in the 90s... about a woman who marries an arab and goes to his home country in the middle east with him... and i dont remember the name of the book... neither do i remember the name of the author... i mean who carez... but still... it was a good book... at least i thought it was...

also I strongly recomend to read Frank McCourt "Angela's Ashes"
Kurt Vonnegut "Slaughterhouse-Five, or The Children's Crusade" I was almost crying.

this is a story about american soldier that witnessed bombing of Dresden in 1944. A book is full of humor but still very sad.

Just adore "1984".
Book which opens something new every time u read it.
I've just finished one - A.S. Byatt, "Passions of the mind".
try it, walker, very intellectual as u always prefer : )

And i 've found really interesting "Mecca and Main Street".
